Be a Mentor! Help a student become part of your working community by providing advice and sharing your work experiences just one day per month. If you wish to take part in this important activity, please contact the Director, Dr. Karen McDonald at 780-413-7812. Mentoring begins each January with students in their second or third term of study. Please read our Mentoring Handbook for more detailed information. Hire a Practicum Student! We have candidates looking for work placements in both the summer and fall terms following completion of the academic portion of the program. Students are required to complete a 12-week field experience in preparation to sit the national Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors examinations. If you would like to offer a practicum experience, please contact the Director, Dr. Karen McDonald at 780-413-7812. Please read excerpts from our Practicum Handbook for more detailed information. Get Help with a Research Project! If you have a short-term research project in the environmental public health field requiring someone with solid knowledge of risk assessment and strong analytical skills, a Concordia environmental health student may fit. Some opt for a research project experience rather than the inspection practicum. Please contact the Director, Dr. Karen McDonald at 780-413-7812. Looking for Professional Development Courses? We have begun offering professional development courses specifically designed for public health professionals. If you are interested in learning more about future offerings, contact the Director, Dr. Karen McDonald at 780-413-7812.
